That was dark

This scene was actually kind of disturbingly to watch. It must have been agonizing pain for Sci-Twi because we saw the magic ball was hot enough to evaporate her tears instantly so it was at the absolute least 212 degrees inside the sphere, if you were to make brief contact with something that was 174 degrees it would leave you with severe burns. She would have felt like her flesh was being seared off the whole time she was inside that thing. If not for the magic keeping her alive she would most likely have died.
