I know I should look at the long term, but with there might not be one.
 
I could die tomorrow, with like accomplishing relatively nothing.
 
That’s one reason why I act altruistically. If I could die at any moment, I’d like to remembered that my short life was mostly dedicated to helping others who deserved better than me.

This is the way I see it: Everyone starts off as a leech to society. A parasite. Taking everything and giving nothing back. But as you grow, you develop and are able to give back more then you initially took.
 
As long as you do your job (study, work, raise a family, etc), you become a valuable societal investment and eventually your accomplishments. Becoming a teacher/professor is a very noble and selfless pursuit, you should take pride in it.

Well, it seems my worth of living has some point now.
 
I always feel like I take others’ generosity for taking care of me for granted. That I can’t repay in a tangible way.

Then you’re going to contribute to society in the future. :)

I’ve been told I’m nice and smart (sometimes funny), but that’s kinda about it. I offer like nothing practical to the table.

At a near-objective level, I kinda do stink.
 
I can’t really draw, I’m pretty much tone-deaf, my vision sucks, I’m terrified to go driving, shy, have a hard time doing the simplest projects, and I’m short.
