That’s actually a good point.
Agreed on Thunderhoof, but for Sonata I think Springload, Quillfire, or maybe Bisk might be a better match.
Or possibly Fracture instead for the contrast, since Sonata probably wouldn’t be as funny without someone more grounded there to get exasperated at her airheadedness.
Edited
Good thought!👍
Aria with Thunderhoof no doubt Sonata I don’t know I could with either Underbite or Clampdown leaning towards the latter.
Oh, don’t even talk to me about Soundwave in Combiner Force. Where did the new body come from, why is he breaking his vow of silence, the whole thing with the minicons, none of it makes any sense.
No your right on the Stunticon thing Motormaster could have been something but just ended up being nothing.
And the rest of Combiner Force isn’t much better since it’s just rehashing season one in that Steeljaw’s Pack are work for a mystery offscreen menace (Sondwave) the only difference being it was Spears out over more episodes so I guess it’s better than The Fallen just showing up at the end of the season going “I was behind it all apparently!”
Also I liked Saberhorn he should have had more focus.
He also got pretty badly stomped by Grimlock, with far less difficuly than one would expect given how he’d been introduced, and it’s not like they couldn’t have had Steeljaw make his move a few episodes later (or betray Saberhorn, who’d already gotten screen time, instead) if they wanted to keep Scorpy around for a bit. But he basically shows up looking intimidating and then goes out like a chump within the next episode or two, so I don’t think it matters who you blame, they still wash their hands of the guy before spending any time characterizing him. Plus, if they wanted to make Steeljaw look dangerous, fleshing Scorponok out as a character would have helped give the betrayal some weight. I thonk it’s fair to say they dropped the ball here no matter where they had intended to throw it.
But you at least gotta give me Motormaster, right? They build him up and build him up and then when he shows up he’s mostly just there to be Menasor’s torso and we never even get to see him fight uncombined. Combiner Force was just full of disappointments…
Edited
I would say Scorponok’s potential was squandered because of Steeljaw because they tried to give him another shot at being the big dog.
I’ll grant that they maybe could have done more with Steeljaw, but I still liked him. And he’s certainly not the worst waste of potential among the RiD ‘cons: Megatronus, Scorponok, and Motormaster would be my top 3 for that.

Rainbow Dash: “Yeah, I was wondering when target practice was. Who’s the mutt?”
Steeljaw: “I don’t think my name would mean much to you. Let’s just say I’m a big fan of Miss Dazzle’s work, and with my help, she’ll soon be reaching audiences she never even knew existed.”
I think Rainbow Dash would be a more suitable partner for Sideswipe.
I’m still sticking with Adagio being partnered up with Steeljaw, mainly because they have very similar personalities.
I concur
I feel shame not realizing that.
They’re together.
