The parents of Flash Sentry, First Base and  
Archer.
 
The two of them married due to a mutual agreement between their families (both are Noble Houses). It also was a wise arrangement at that. House Sentry had the numbers and hereditary hardiness (thanks to strong earth pony genes alongside pegasi ones) while House Carter had the money and connections backing them up (benefits from being descendants of Flash Magnus, you see). It seemed to be a match made in Celestia’s castle, since the two hit it off well.
 
 
As part of Lance’s family tradition, his and Magna’s firstborn would carry the House name. They also decided to give him the first name of Magna’s ancestor. Not long after, the couple had fraternal twins. While the filly twin grew up to be a prodigy at bows and arrows, the colt twin grew to show an interest in baseball.
 
By the way, the reason I’ve been using lots of bases (aside from the fun behind it) is so that I can practice pony anatomy. Once I’m sure I’ve gotten a good grasp, I’ll draw more original pone stuff. I’m also still working on the CM’s of these two
