Pretty sure Discovery family is included in cable packages and also they will be going on the official YouTube channel anyway

It’s not free. It will only be legally available on Discovery Family, which isn’t free and Hasbro is making money off of. Not to mention that it’s a toy commercial. Almost all commercials are free. Doesn’t mean that almost all of them should be celebrated.

eh, technically in the case of fim, they were just going to leave the franchise in the g3.5 dumpster of cardboard animation, until lauren faust pitched an interesting reboot and got a bunch of cool animators to help out.
 
but yeah, they’re riding the success of the original series. that’s why trademarks should become invalid once they’ve become a significant part of the public culture. back in the day, disney legally owned mickey mouse. now disney legally owns that part of your brain.
