Oh here we go with the ‘invalid opinion’ BS…
Sorry. Your opinion is invslid.
Yes they have. I’ll give you Spike but Twilight was turned into a judgmental hypocrite who held a grudge against Trixie, which was NEVER there in the show, all to make Starlight look good in comparison. Then she mind controls the Mane 5 and they have no role in there whatsoever other than to be the thing Starlight learns a lesson from. And then there’s the finale where all of the Mane 6 are worfed so utterly and reduced to worthless all so Starlight can save the day. The Mane 5’s biggest interaction with Starlight was being mind controlled by her. And then Starlight’s story kicks the Mane 6 to background ponies in the season 6 premier.
They gave her instant trust. Nobody holds anything against her. They all immediately trust and love her. There’s no discussion or evaluation of Starlight by them, she just accepted.
The writers haven’t diminished a single character on Starlight’s behalf. She’s given Spike room to shine, Twilight more room to grow, and the others more room to advise.
No one, least of all Starlight, has instantly forgiven her. They’ve evaluated her efforts and responses after discussion and moved forward from there.
Okay perfect was the wrong word. What I mean is that the writers have put Starlight on a pedestal and constantly coddle her. Every time she does something even remotely wrong, she’s instantly forgiven, faces no repercussion and is always shown in a good light. They keep trying to make Starlight’s endearing, which are not what flaws are. People have been complaining about Fluttershy being a wimp, Rainbow Dash being egocentric, Pinkie Pie being ADD obnoxious since Day 1, yet when it comes to Starlight people are constantly like “Well she’s flawed and that make her great.” No it doesn’t. It’s like saying a car with a broken windscreen, missing tire and horrible smell is a fantastic car. The thing with flaws is that you need a virtue to balance them out and Starlight’s only one is that she feels really sorry about everything, which is nowhere near enough to balance it out.
And you are correct, I do dislike Starlight. She is a forced addition to the show that the writers keep shoving at us and trying to make her the new center of attention. And to do so the writers constantly diminish the mane cast to make sure Starlight appears in the best possible. So yeah I dislike Starlight.
My point was that saying the writers will never have her do wrong (implying she’s an unlikable way-too-good character) is plain wrong. She’s done plenty wrong. To think the writers make her prefect seems very biased to me.
She’s fine to me. Kinda cute. She’s trying.
God forbid I’m allowed to like Starlight…
I meant from “Every Little Thing She Does”. And the second, the reason is irrelevant, she still did wrong. And third, again, you’re sidestepping the issue that she actually did mess up, plan poorly, what-have-you.
Just look at her trying to get along with the mane six and the Cakes. She’s far from perfect. She’s flawed, goes to controlling her friends with mind spells, and fails to connect with them. She’s done plenty wrong. Her entire arc was her originally being an antagonist for pete’s sake. You just don’t like her is all.

The first one was when she was a villain, the second to show off just how nervous she is (ie to make the audience sympathize with her for being oh so down) and the later was immediately corrected when she was the one to tell Thorax what to do
Other than brainwashing her friends, messing up every attempt to connect with them, epicly failing to destroy Chrysalis’ throne… Just the ones off the top of my head.
That’s because Starlight can do no wrong in the writer’s eyes
Honestly, I want things to be given the proper tags, even if I don’t like the tags themselves. If characters are friends, label them as such, if lovers, than do the same for them.
I even made this in response to it: >>1189799 (all the friendshipping things among the mane 6 that people tag as “lesbian”) :D
Edited
sigh People are too ship-happy at times.
Lol, yeah, I think the best case I ever saw was someone putting the shipping tags on this: >>1190912 (deleted)
Thanks. Will check for any more.
I wouldn’t mind. and i already removed the shipping tags from the two you mentioned.

I know. Mistags will occurred. I’m asking if anyone will object if I try to correct some of them.
It’s not our fault that certain users had the wrong idea about what constitutes shipping and we didn’t notice until now.

Thank you, now I know that Flutters hugging a giant Angel and Humanized Flutters in a bikini looking at the audience with Angel on her butt both count as shipping. Think anyone would mind me looking at those and question the images that don’t deserve the tag?

He responds unusually well to her.
