Its full of ponies!

The thing on her head is perfume mixed with animal fat. As the fat melts in the heat of Egypt, it would drip down her face and make her smell good. This was LONG before perfume sprays were invented.

Though we’re not exactly sure that’s what those are supposed to be, it’s more of a best guess.
