Who says I think the pony designs are unique from each other? The difference you’re not seeing is that ponies have more aspects to them than just their appearance. Cutie marks only have their appearance and meaning. The CMCs cutie marks mean essentially the same thing and look undeniably similar.

I never said anything to dismiss there where parts that where the same like you did of the parts that are not the same.
And technically they are unique, there are no other cutie marks like the three and eatch one is set apart from the others with what they have not the same.
If they only unique by the loosest sense of the word then so is most of the pony in the show as they use one of a set number of bases, as I said you have too look at the WHOLE not just what is the same.

Way to ignore the parts that are the exact same ಠ_ಠ

Do you think that’s a point? Their cutie marks are “unique” in the very loosest sense of the word.

>”their unique aspects are grossly underplayed”

That’s not the same as having not uniqueness, like you said before, and why I said “way to ignore the parts that are not the same”.

That’s a paper thin argument as anything with even a remote similarity to another gets call the rip-off or somthing like that.
I mean with how any game the collecting and training creatures intently gets labeled as a pokemon ripoff.
You need to look at them as a whole, not just what is the same.

The cutie marks have parts the same as they have very similar meaning for the CMC, helping others find and be tre to what their cutie marks mean, but they also have unique parts to set apart with how they have their own aspects the others to not have,
They make sense.

In any other situation where there’s a negligible difference between something it would be called the same, or a rip-off, or something of the sort. Why is it different here?

Maybe not overdesigned, but rather they pretty much have no uniqueness to them. That and the signature dwarfing bit.

What also bothers me is the lack of colour harmony. Scootaloo’s cutie mark really goes well with her colour palette, but the other CMs really clash with the colour palettes of their fillies.
