got during the entrance exam to Celestia’s school. And it’s the same song where she says she thought  
she didn’t need any other ponies, which shows that she was anti-social during the aprenticeship.

Equal to Celestia? With all the submissive things she does? True, she doesn’t bow to Celestia the ruler,  
but she “bows” to the pony, Celestia. It’s so deeply ingratiated into her mind that she preffered to  
cause problems in order to not dissapoint, again, not Celestia the ruler, but Celestia the teacher.

Twilight was an introvert who valued the acquiescence of knowledge above social interactions(until Season 1 that is). Was Celestia supposed to force her to make friends prior to then? To change who she was, isn’t that exactly what you were saying is a bad thing? And Celestia forced her to leave? Do you mean when she made her over see the preparations? Because Twilight chose to live in Ponyville when she made friends with the main six.  
Emulating is not the same as being groomed to the purpose of being a lover. If anything the concept and the worst part of grooming is making the target submissive to the desires of the groomer, if Twilight sees herself as an equal to use Celestia’s methods then she does not fit the bill.

Celestia forced her to leave? The same Twilight who has severe psychotic breaks at the mere thought  
at disappointing Celestia? Yes, I can totally see her instigating a relationship with said ruler.
 
As for Celestia moulding Twilight… I think you need to rewatch the latest season, where Twilight  
behaves like a mini-me of Celestia, trying to teach her student just like Celestia taught her.  
With this, we can see that Celestia did in fact mould Twilight in her own image.

Wait what, by wife-husbandry you mean the act of ‘grooming’ right? You really think if Celestia and Twilight were to get together it would only be via Celestia ‘moulding’ Twilight into a partner for her? That’s disturbing to be sure but you honestly think Celestia would do that? In fact I was going to link a fic you might like , but I see you’ve already read it and commented on it.
 
Also you’re overlooking the possibility that it could be Twilight as the one instigating a relationship, shes already shown several times in the show how much she values Celestia and Celestia’s opinion of her, its not much of a stretch to say she could have developed a crush on her.

The example of Greek and Roman Gods is rather poor considering that among incest they also committed acts or rape, murder, and a plethora of other heinous acts.  
Back then pederasty was also acceptable since they believed it helped young boys mature into manhood. I hope you don’t defend that.
 
But in the Twilestia instance it’s wife-husbandry that makes the ship have so much squick and boundaries crossed. You can ship whatever you want, incest and the such its all fiction. But when some one points out the worrisome aspects of that ship, attempting to say it’s a social construct that makes it seem bad seems like an excuse more than anything.
 
On the whole Celestia having romance, I think it’s more likely she moved completely past the need for romance it seems confusing that a being such as herself would need that.
 
Back on the ship, you can ship Twilestia I’m not trying to argue that you can’t. I just wanted to voice why some people would be uncomfortable with it and that’s the last I’ll say on this topic.

What is ‘right’ and what is ‘wrong’? Some things that was dispicable in the past are a norm now, and other way around.  
Right and Wrong molded by society mostly for labels. You know, that things that makes easier to manipulate groups of people.  
And about ties.  
I remember a movie where granny locked her grands on the loft for 5-10 years and checked how their relationships going. They escaped only when commited act and… well, fell in love with eache other.
 
If your partners were short lived, it would be devastating to burry your love againd and again! How would your brains react to it? From sadness and pure depression, your consciousness would thought “I wan’t love.” I don’t want to loose it again” “I don’t want to turture myself with new shortlived lover” “She is alwayse near, alwayse with me” “I want her. I want her to be closer then ever” “She can be with me, forever”  
Done, incest between immortal creatures.  
And you know that your choice was ‘right’ cuz you know what is ‘right’ for you.

Plus I would say that Luna x Celestia is psychologically possible.  
After such amount of years they lived together, every moral and family barrier could start crumble.

I’ve read plenty of Twilestia fics that address that in a variety of ways, some hand-wave it away but there are good ones that look at their relationship in depth, and their roles in each others lives.
