Boy, thats METAL
I still have a funny feeling Spike’s diet of grasses and such is cause for his stunted growth. He’s shown he can eat anything without any adverse side effects, but when Ember came by, she didn’t touch any of the food on the table and instead devoured all the crystal objects (bowls and such) before even expanding out to the walls; a feast that didn’t put a proverbial pound on her, and Spike never gets to gorge himself on gems like that. The only time he did was in Owls well that ends well and that was only one meal.
@Daneasaur
I propose the name “Ettin-Gnoll” as her species/description.
Edited
She’s a “Gnoll” or something similar, but yes she has two heads and I recall a much clearer image being here…
That’s a hyena? I thought she was a wolf.
But if there is a better pic of her, I’d like to see it.
Actually, it sounds more like lore that that fits into “post dragon” timelines in fantasy. Many of these mention how the dragons had magical gemstones for hearts or otherwise had some organ of great value and were hunted to extinction for it. A situation where the dragon race is rather currently flourishing makes this exceedingly grim as it implies, not that a dragon died here long ago, but that a dragon was impaled on this very spire and this town rose up by people carving away at it.
Actually, most oil is from algae back in the cambrian era.
I imagine this is closer to show canon than my theory. But still, the idea of the show just dropping that idea of mine into a story without thinking of the complications amuses me. A little.
There would have to be a ton of dead dragons for how many gemstones are in Equestria, though. I think it’s more that they have crystal hearts and that is a special gemstone they are hunted by ponies for.
Or maybe the old adage “you are what you eat” is true.
Actually, the mythos of a dead dragon’s heart being a gemstone of incredibly potent power has been used many times in the past and is one reason said dragons were hunted.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that were true in MLP.
You’re now aware that Spike gave Rarity an actual Dragon Heart as his symbol of love to her.
Yeah. Imagine if they’d gone with that, how Spike would react when he learned what he’s been eating for years.
More like canniballs.
I guess it makes them predators all along.
Or at least scavengers.
If that WAS true, think back on all the times we saw Spike and other dragons eating gems and sleeping on them. Those scenes feel a little different now, don’t they?
If you go on the official movie site, go to “story” and scroll down, it draws the path as you read the plot summary.
It seems the version of the map with the path wasnt posted on derpibooru. I swear i saw it here… but i cant find it.
Yeah. Honestly, I’m going with the original idea for what the dragon skeleton was intended to be, just sort of lampshaded as I said.
I’m thinking they are going to have the dragon skeleton be part of some epic establishing shot of Klugetown as they go over the dune.
