Ever since I saw the episode with Ember I’ve wanted to draw her, especially in her armor, I finally got around to it
That doesn’t mean this is a bad image in any way-rather, I think it is one of my favourite drawings of Ember that I have seen on this site (especially the drawing of Spike hugging Ember). I can understand why drawing her with more human-like proportions would have been instinctual if you mostly draw pictures of actual humans. And, if I have to be honest with you, I think I prefer Ember with the anthro proportions rather than the way she was originally drawn up. So it ended up working out, I would say.

It wasn’t my intention to make her look human, but I don’t draw too many non-human characters, so it’s hard for me to stick with cartoon proportions or less human looking characters.
I realized later on after posting this that Ember has a more long body but short legs.
You are justified in your actions.
Edit: Added the ‘anthro’ tag based on my own findings from this drawing. This design is definitely different than the show version of Ember, with more human-like characteristics.
