I think i’ve lost track of this conversation and who’s referring to what. And i’m not saying that to be snarky or anything, I have.
If it’s pretty terrible, don’t do it. You can’t really be neutral while still dehumanizing one side and glorifying the other’s hate. Nobody needs a “dose of reality” beaten into their skull with a claw hammer; people like to say it’s okay because it’s directed at evil bad people, but in pretty much every case their excuses apply more to their own rage than to their victims.
It’s pretty terrible.
That said, I don’t agree with the SJW mindset at all. They’re my least favourite kind of people and I think some need a good dose of reality (in fact I follow and am a fan of askfurybelle). However, my stance is mostly just that if someone is being harmful to someone else, then that’s wrong. No matter what side they’re on.
Yikes, I don’t often get on my soapbox. It’d been collecting dust for a while.
They’d probably say the same thing if you asked them directly, but they literally don’t consider “Warriors” to be people. They rationalize their actions by overemphasizing the evils of their victims, which among other things include being of the wrong skin color (in the vein of “oh, he’s talking about how minorities are treated, he must be white, what a hypocrite”) or using words to criticize other people’s words and pictures (because free speech extends specifically that far, apparently).
The “freedom of speech” issue is particularly notable, because they rarely have a reasonable standard for which types of speech should be accepted without question, and which should be blotted out by bullying their practitioners. It’s presented as something like “you’re free to make any art with any message, but you can’t speak against art or its message because then you’re censoring it” but they’ll still label someone’s art an act of social justice war if it has the wrong message. And while the art that they consider a hateful attack tends to involve ponies looking at the screen with unhappy expressions, their own attack art involves things like (warning: Explicit/Grimdark) caricatures of people they hate being raped to death accompanied by lists of the victims’ “crimes” to emphasize how much they allegedly deserve it.
Pretty much. I’ve gotten some hate for similar things. Ah well, life goes on. ;D
That’s nice in theory and action. Even nicer in practice; It’s just belief that comes next and actually doing it all the way through, even though the whole world of implosion will hate you and tell you to go to hell and try to convince you that you “suck”.
No one should be without their basic human rights. People should just be kind and respectful to everyone.
Point.
However, it didn’t end the thread.
But you mentioned nazis hence why I activated it. Don’t you know?
Honestly, what needs to happen is that there needs to be a backlash from the transsexuals themselves against these people.
If summer camp on the autism spectrum taught me anything, it’s that sometimes you sort of are asking for what you’re getting. It doesn’t make what you’re getting right by any means, but often you need to be the one to change their attitude in order to make things better. It also taught me that when it comes to changing for others, you’ll get better results from changing your attitude, than from changing anything else.
Junior high taught me that even if everyone is literally out to get you, it’s remarkable how many people will leave you alone once you earn their respect.
Why have others’ tolerance when you can have their respect? There’s a lot of damage to be undone, on top of what transexuals already face, but if the gay rights movement is anything to go by, the best way to gain support, is to be someone people want to support. Neil Patrick Harris is gay, but he appears on the cover of The Bro Code, which countless straight men will swear by. Freddie Mercury is gay, but he’s regarded as the pinnacle of masculinity.
@Minus
I’m well aware that it’s SJWs doing this.

It’s not Godwin’s Law per se, since I’m comparing the two movements’ quality of PR, rather than actual ideologies or actions.
Yes, and that’s exactly why hate shouldn’t be encouraged. Like an out-of-control wildfire, hatred will constantly self-perpetuate if people let it, growing more intense, more knee-jerk, and less discriminatory in what provokes it.
The way to solve the problem isn’t to declare war on the object of their hatred, because tha only results in making (mostly innocent) people miserable. But then, some people are so hateful that they consider that a good thing.
To be honest, if I weren’t already heavily involved in the campaign for LGBT rights before encountering the online trans activist community…I don’t know. I’d like to say I wouldn’t hate anyone based off the actions of a few of their group’s members on the internet, but when those members are so overwhelmingly and consistently belligerent nutjobs, prejudices are bound to form. It’s not at all fair to the many trans people who just want to live their lives free of discrimination, but it’s how the human brain naturally works.
Those droids got you upset too?
Virtually none of their victims “identified as a Nazi”. They have political opinions that certain people want to wipe out of existence, as well as other not-even-remotely-evil activities such as trying to convince other people with words, displaying human emotions, showing their faces in public, getting angry when people send them death threats, and so on. Despite certain people equating opinions with the Holocaust (as an excuse to deny them basic human rights), all it takes to be tergeted is to have a single “wrong” belief, and anything less then total support of their hate is considered “wrong” by them.
Occasionally, the endless torrent of hate targets someone who may have, at one point in their life, said or done something that could be called “objectionable” by reasonable standards. This doesn’t mean that their attemts to bully people’s self-esteem into oblivion is rational. In fact, their hyperaggressive hatemongering is massively destructive and harmful to everyone involved. And most of them are fully aware that hate is destructive; “these EVIL people are making people hate them by being evil which is why you should hate them” is a popular bit of rhetoric. They just don’t apply that logic to their own actions.
Hold on there! Feminists and trans activists are NOT the ones doing this! Social Justice Warriors are a dangerous group that spreads hate and encourages violence. They actively target people that have low self-esteem and try to convert them. They create a false enemy for these people, whilst ironically being more abusive to them than anyone else.
Please do not blame trans/gay/disabled/Steven Universe fans for being terrible people when they’ve been tricked into it, and really just need our help. SJWs make these people with differences feel accepted, and in return they gain the power and support they need to start causing real harm. Starting with censorship of anthing they find offensive, as we’ve seen happening a lot.

If someone identified as a nazi, and was murdered, do you think the courts would really punish the killer? No. Nazis are exempt from human rights. I don’t agree with this at all, not now when they hold less power than an SJW and are less of a threat. But when it comes to people that we’re at war with, people that are attacking us? Self defense. SJWs need to be exterminated as the cancer they are. Maybe not literally exterminated, but why should they be allowed the rights they refuse to give to any white/cis/straight people? Hate speach is not “an opinion”, it’s poisenous.
I’ve seen people claim that “warriors” should be denied basic inalienable human rights, because they’re sub-human. Amongst other, similarly hateful hypocrisies. The sheer amount of uncontrolled self-righteous rage inherent in the backlash makes it extremely hard to trust.
Ughh . . .
Godwins law activated.
Discussion over.
Ultimately, I know that not all trans activists are like that. But it is so frustrating. Especially since, if all the shit trans people had to put up with ended tomorrow, and they were accepted and treated well, Tumblr would start declaring them part of the problem, too.
I don’t think that this sort of behaviour is representative of all trans activists. it’s more a case of “radicals of whatever persuasion think that whatever they are doing is good, and as such, they don’t care if everybody else hates them for it”
Do trans people want to be hated by the rest of the world? Their defenders are overly sensitive, utterly pedantic, and lash out at anyone who so much as looks at them funny, which is the holy trinity of being unlikeable, and they’ve declared war on the rest of the world.
They actively want the rest of the world to hate them. Even the Nazis had better PR than these guys.
“Careful now!”
