I know that feeling well, believe me, but as HighRollerHydra says this is when the belief in a “personal” Equestria or multiverse can rescue you from gnawing doubt. Another possible solution is to create a tulpa of the character, so no matter what fantasies other people have for the same mare they can never touch yours. Like it or not, other people will always have the same waifu as us, so we’ve got to learn to either ignore them or live together in peace (which I freely admit has been a problem for me before… ahem, Spike and Kydose).

Okay, it’s just that I don’t like these kinds of artwork because I’m afraid the Equestria I’m going will have Twilight married, and she is the only reason why I’m alive, which I’m glad that is the case.

Spike smiles at Twilight when he realizes she’s crushing on Flash entry at the end of EG. That’s why she rolls her eyes and starts to draw him into the hug (the movie cuts out the actual hug as the credits start for some reason that I’ll never understand).
 
Spike wants Twilight to be happy, and I think that a stifled giggle is reasonable enough for a kid of his age and obvious maturity.

He’s a pretty cool guy, I’ve had to talk to him about the issue he had about Flash making a cameo in the new episode.

This guy’s OC is shaping up to be an even bigger waifu thief than Flash Sentry.

I’d probably do the same with Princess Luna in my own personal sad headcanon. Oh well, if you can’t beat em, join em!
