@lumpfish
The episode isn’t even out yet dude, so how come you’re already assuming its going to be just like Power Ponies by a couple of scenes? I for one, like what I’ve seen so far.
@albert19
Dragons look great with wings though. That’s a scientific fact :)
And while I wouldn’t like him any less if he never grows them, I’d really like it if he did.
Oh boy. I sure can’t wait for another, “SEE, SPIKE IS AMAZING! WE’RE NOT MISUSING HIM LOOK HE’S A HERO!”
Then everything will go back to normal. It just shows how disorganized they are, like “Oh man, we’ve really been writing Spike terribly haven’t we? We need to do something special now so it doesn’t look as bad.”
Then as soon as they finish “Okay glad that’s over with back to writing him as an useless sack of shit.”
I guess I’m just tired of the writers trying to TELL me why I should like Spike as a character rather than SHOW me.
@Background Pony #BAB6
Yeah, I remembered that card seconds after posting…
Huh, what do you know, maybe it is possible he might expand on his teleporting fire.
And even though I agree on the small package badass, I kinda would like at least one episode where he temporarily grows to fight off a giant enemy. Its definetly no longer a big issue for me though, not after THIS. The fact that he does have actual dragon fire made my day already. The growing thing is no longer necesary for me.
@Background Pony #BAB6
I definitely agree with you on that point, I like the idea of him having a lot of badass in a small package, though I don’t care if he gets wings or not. Not that I’m against it or anything, I just don’t think he needs them, and I think it’d be interesting if he doesn’t get them. Now if by fire wings you mean being able to conjure up wings with pyromancy of some kind then I’d totally be on board with that.
@Background Pony #EB8B
Meh, he’s cooler when he is small-sized badass. If he was big, it would be less cooler and more “meh, it’s obvious that he’s strong, nothing to look here”.
Fire wings and flying would be nice.
@Spiked Punch
In “Spike At Your Service” he used hearth spell (teleport something from home. Or nullspace) for his visiting card.
@Background Pony #EB8B
I don’t think the self-teleportation thing is possible since as far as we know it works by burning down something, and dragons are supposedly fireproof. Not to mention the destination seems to have been set by Celestia’s magic, not something Spike can decide.
Spike shows he can use real burning fire aside from his magical teleportation one. Fuck. Yes.
That’s one thing I can cross on my Spike wishlist.
Still pending are:
-Growing his wings.
-Using a positive emotion (friendship) to temporarily grow without losing control.
Though I admit I also secretly wish he can master his magic green fire once he grows up, to the point where he can teleport not just letters, but even himself and others with it.
Love that episode!
I dunno. The “threat” in question seems oddly specific for it to be his imagination.
He’s falling with style!
Maybe Twilight used a gravity spell to get him close to the ceiling.

He’s bobbing up and down, standing still in the air with no magic or momentum. He’s doing something.
Have you fathomed how high the ceiling of the building he’s in is?
Somebody could have thrown him, besides, is it really that ridiculous? We have no idea how high Spike can jump anyway…
That would also be unforgivably rediculous.
Somebody could have thrown him up there.
That’s badass… and he’s only a baby. Imagine when he’s older…

it’s super effective

I do agree on the first two, though.
