The thing in the middle is called Sparky and 90% of everyone agrees it’s an unholy abomination and a general detriment every second it’s on screen. He is far and away the worst part of G5. He’s ugly, he’s stupid (as in he’s literally a goo-goo gaa-gaa baby), he’s constantly played up as if he’s cute when he clearly isn’t, he’s forced on us as a plot point, and he turned an actually interesting character (Hitch from the movie) into a boring overprotective dad.

I agree the human teeth are kinda weird but you’re the first person I’ve heard complaining about them so whatever.

What the fuck skin pores are you talking about? They’re fuzzy. Kinda like tennis ball or peach fuzz.

Anyway, watch the movie. It’s by far the best thing they’ve done so far. Then skip chapter 1 and maybe 2–the show started really bad and has slowly gotten better, with the most recent chapter 4 being genuinely good again. And they’ve handled the social media shit surprisingly well–Pipp fails miserably whenever she tries to be an “influencer” and instead does well when she’s just performing for its own sake. There was even a whole episode about Pipp chasing in-world equivalent to likes and it went terribly. I fully expected to hate Pipp and she’s instead turning into one of my favorite characters.

Oh, and if you’re like me and hate Cal-Arts garbage, don’t even bother watching the “other” G5 show, Tell Your Tale. It’s ugly as sin, and you aren’t missing much. I’d recommend adding the “my little pony: tell your tale” tag to your filter.

I’ve been over this fandom for just about seven years; I decided to take a peek to see what’s different and this is the new generation? Why do they have skin pores? why do they have human teeth? What the Christ is that fucking thing in the middle‽ How long has this been a thing?

I was perturbed at a glance for the apparent inclusion of the dragon-thing, but then I saw the “not you” and my spirits were lifted far above where they had been moments before.

Even Spikeabuse inherits into G5, like wow, wtf dude.
