And people say, to paraphrase, that “Nothing’s done with them ever since Rollercoaster of Friendship”, yeah, riiiiiiiiiight…

No to all of that rubbish.
Writers don’t control clothing design.
I believe you have a very skewed, backwards view of what’s going on here. When someone can “literally” (using your word) mention that they have no issue with the fact that it’s a lesbian ship and yet you still blame “homophobia”, it shows where the true issue lies. You should never wonder why people have an issue with the shippers if this is the attitude they can expect from them.
Ironically, the ones who religiously ship F/F ships tend to deny the existence of a canonical heterosexual ship, such as Timbertwi. I’m not sure where you get this idea that people dislike it because it’s a homosexual ship, but it’s far from accurate.

Also Rarity’s style choice for Applejack was by far the most revealing of the three, just saying.
But also also, I don’t get how anyone could not see they’re at least trying to imply Rarijack is a thing. Not after Rollercoaster of Friendship. If either had been a dude in that special there wouldn’t be a person on this earth who would claim they WEREN’T dating, with everything they did.
Then again the kind of people who deny even that sort of thing would happily deny that a homosexual relationship exists even if the people involved outright stated “we’re totes gay for each other” and were literally getting married.
Agreed.
A very noble goal.
Yaayy 😁👍
Indeed. That’s all I want to make clear.
I have absolutely no issue with people who do ship the two together. More power to them. I feel people may confuse my criticism as rudeness or overly expressing my distaste for the ship. While I do, indeed, dislike the ship, my opinion should not and does not involve me convincing others not to enjoy it themselves. I simply want to end the myth of it being a canonical relationship.

Okay.
But I am in agreement with you.
Most people need to understand that “Shipping” only applies to images that explicitly state the characters are a couple.
I was simply trying to explain my complacency with the possibility of a homosexual relationship within the show.
How does not having a problem with the scene of Lyra and Bon Bon relate to being homophobic?
You could easily say, as numerous people have, that they were just doing it because they are best friends.

Okay good
Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I will Rarijack love forever and I will not change my opinion
I think you’re misunderstanding. I’m including both dimensions in my comparison.
I’m also okay with a homosexual relationship (I had no issue with the scene with Lyra and Bon Bon in The Breakup Breakdown nor the images that it spurred on). Accusing people of homophobia is not an acceptable argument, it’s just annoying.
What I’m not okay with is people pretending a pairing they like is indeed canon because of scenes where they show the slightest amount of affection. Many, many characters do that. It does not mean they are in a relationship.

Spike is a freaking dog in EG.
Claiming it’s more canon than Rarijack would suggest bestiality.
Amusing how people are somehow OK with bestiality but not a homosexual relationship.
Sparity is more canon than Rarijack. And even then it’s still not full canon.
Again, you can like it, but you can’t say it’s canonical.
It’s amusing to me how many people claim that this ship is canon while simultaneously denying that something like Timbertwi is canon. (Mind you I don’t mean you personally, I’m just saying there are many who do that)

Agreed.
