In my opinion, sometimes it’s better to spare someone’s feelings than tell the truth. Not all the time, but in some cases.

Oh, come on. I was punished before by not being allowed in on a family treat, and it didn’t affect me a bit. Spike’s a big boy, he can take it.

Punishing him by leaving him behind while she has fun with, not just her friends, but his fiends, is a cruel form of punishment especially since it was an accident. I highly doubt that was the reason. Twilight isn’t that mean. I just believe the writers don’t want to do anything with him and just leave him out to make it easier to write, which isn’t even close to ideal. I hear rumors that he’ll get more development, but that remains to be seen.

“Spiketards” Sorry we realize that Spike is a much better character than he’s portrayed to be, unlike a lot of fans.

Do you really think Twilight would have let Spike come with them after he burned Shining Armour’s comic and then tried to cover it up? Keep in mind that this is the second time he’s burned something important.

Just because one little character isn’t in the picture doesn’t mean nobody cares about her. That’s what everyone tells me when I highlight Spike’s absence, which happens a hell of a lot more often than it does to the Demo Squad.

They might as well kick out Applejack and use D a sh for the A  
and kick out Rarity and use P i e for the I

Well… considering Discord and Angel get the plaudits by the staff… I guess McCarthy and co. just don’t like having good-aligned characters who are competent… and male? I don’t know. I just think it’d be a pretty good G-rated villain origin. Pulling a Raimundo’s always a welcome action to get the story running, if it sticks well enough.

I was hoping for that too. I want Spike to either be the one who defeats Starlight Glimmer in the end, or ends up joining her side because of the time spell taking it’s effect on him. If Starlight Glimmer becomes the Twilight Sparkle of the alternate time, Spike could also become her assistant instead. Starlight could use him to her advantage against Twilight, knowing how important he is to her, she would never fight her best friend since childhood.
 
This could help give some good character development to him, and would also make up for all the bad things that happened to him all those 5 years. He would finally get some respect after that.
