She’s on a leash. It’s probably worse. The staging of this makes me think it’s the old “villain forces heroine into marriage” cliche. And given that Twilight doesn’t seem to be fighting back, it’s gotta be someone seriously scary who’d do something she could never live with if she refused. The good news, though, is that this sort of marriage tends to get annulled in rather short order, typically through a show of force by friends of the bride who weren’t invited.

Again, she’s literally being dragged down the aisle on a leash. That makes me think she’s less being offered up as a token of diplomacy, and more being forcibly taken as a prize of conquest. I also suspect that the groom (or other bride) is going to pay for this later.
