Concluding the lineup of my Mane 6, meet Ambrose Apple! Determined, steadfast, and bookish, he’s the son of Braeburn. He was always fascinated by magic and learned everything he could about it, but as an Earth Pony growing up in Appleloosa, his knowledge was considered superfluous by the other ponies around him. Feeling disheartened and out of place, his father eventually informed him that his mother was a unicorn that had left shortly after his birth. He became sure that he was meant to do magic, and when a mysterious comet blazed through the sky, a powerful surge of energy overpowered him and he received his cutie mark. He was then able to harness the comet’s power within him to occasionally perform magic–but they came in random, uncontrollable bursts. It isn’t until he joins Flurry and his new friends to defeat Maredusa does he earn the Phoenix Amulet, which lets him control his power and train in magic.
 
Ambrose represents the Spirit of Wonder–a mystical spirit that derives from the Element of Magic.
