This happens less often than you think. Usually, for me, it’s the other way around: So much planning to the point of inaction.

Story time! Tell a story in the comments about going into danger without a plan.

PM: Okay, so then the rest of you show up, and… Hmm. What do you want to do?
Twilight Sparkle: You’re letting us decide?
PM: Uh, yeah. Is that weird?
Twilight Sparkle: No, no, it’s fine. Great, actually. Though… I’m not sure what we should do.
Applejack: Wha? What happened to “Let’s go to Froggy Bottom Bog and catch that ghost” a few seconds ago?
PM: <roll>
Twilight Sparkle: That was bravado! I was really happy to have Pinkie Sense figured out…
Applejack: Which you didn’t really do, by the way.
Twilight Sparkle: …to have reached a compromise on Pinkie Sense. The rest was just energy!
PM: <roll>
Applejack: So we’re standin’ in the middle of a bog, being watched by somethin’ dangerous, the PM’s rollin’ dice, and we have NO PLAN.
Twilight Sparkle: Hey! Since when was I the dedicated pony with a plan?!
Applejack: Since you blew up Nightmare Moon with your mind, that’s when!
Fluttershy: Girls, please…
