Taken out of context, A person doing that sort of thing is like a guy saying “Well, Because my Father didn’t change the oil in the car I’m not going to do it either - Yeah, That’ll teach him!” Until the car breaks down earlier from negligence than it would’ve if he would’ve just changed the oil and given up his stupid “Right to revenge”.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Aharon L’anglais
Sweetie Belle is, just shy of canon, the least intelligent of the CMCs, not the most intelligent. She does however have the most wisdom. Mostly in that she’s the first to recognize when she’s completely without a clue in some situation, while the other two just assume that whatever goes wrong they’ll be ready for it. Because it’s status quo to Sweetie Belle not to know what she’s doing, and no loss of face for her to admit what she, and everyone else knows.

Apple Bloom is canonically the leader of the CMCs, but just doesn’t have a clue where to lead them.

@Aharon L’anglais
I’d actually say that none of the CMC fit as the leader. Apple Bloom has the strongest desire to get her cutie mark, but that’s as close as any of them come.

As for the voice of reason… Depending on the situation, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle will try to interject some sense.

@Evowizard25
Yeah, Scootaloo is clearly the leader and comes up with stupid and dangerous ideas ergo Moe. Apple Bloom’s so gung ho for a cutie mark that she’ll go along with anything, thus Curly and just like Larry, Sweetie Belle is marginally the smartest of the three and is the only one with any common sense. She also is the only one who realizes that their current plan is guaranteed to fail, of course she can’t complain loudly enough to get Scootaloo and Apple Bloom to listen.
Evowizard25

@Cucaracha2
Well, the universe is pretty much trying to tell the CMC to stop forcing their cutie marks and learn from the lessons they had already learned.

(CMC episodes throw this into the faces of the CMC. They pound it into their heads, yet after everything (especially after that cutie pox thing) They go right back to status quo and spend all day worrying over cutie marks.)

That’s why I prefer episodes centered around only one of the CMC.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Aharon L’anglais
The Riddler can actually back that up on occasion. Trixie never has. Heck, she’s never even claimed to be all that smart, just magical. And even that claim was, by her own admission, pure showmanship.
Evowizard25

@Aharon L’anglais
I do believe Trixie is rather smart. She was able to find and locate the Alicorn’s Amulet. (Though she forget the small detail of driving the wearer insane.)

The problem is that she lets her ego control her actions, thus making stupid choices.

@Aharon L’anglais
You’re just plain making stuff up at this point. While Trixie has a stage persona, she’s never displayed any great shakes as a actor or liar. She’s just a ham. She’s actually got a habit of overacting, when you get down to it.

Her one display of knowledge consisted of getting hold of an amulet that was displayed and sold over the counter, before failing to control it. Hardly the work of a mastermind.
Aharon L'anglais

If she had just stolen it, she would have been recognized. The Ursa Minor fiasco was still fresh on everybody’s minds. Everybody knew about the mouthy fraud whose bragging caused the village idiots to bring the thing into town. It was clearly important to keep a low profile. Her plan wouldn’t work with her in jail for theft now would it? Though who’s to say she didn’t steal the money she used to buy the amulet? We only have her word for it and once again she has talent as an actress and liar. The point is Trixie has studied Twilight and knows that she is too powerful for a direct confrontation. Next time they meet, Trixie is more likely to wear Twilight to near exhaustion so that she can’t use her magic. Once you get past her boasting, Trixie is just as much a mastermind as Twilight is a genius.

@Aharon L’anglais
Aside from the fact that Trixie has never gotten into a physical fight, Her first appearance showed that she was ignorant of what an Ursa Major actually looked like and her second showed that she wasn’t smart enough to get a job outside of manual labor when her stage career bombed.

As far as her criminal chops go… She never committed a crime before buying the amulet. She was also incapable of continuing her stage career under a new identity, which speaks badly for any ability as a con artist.

@Aharon L’anglais
For a true criminal, it’s odd that’d she work at a farm to make money, then pay good coin for the amulet. A true criminal would’ve, you know, committed crimes and stolen the thing.
Aharon L'anglais

Trixie for all her boasting is very much Twilight’s equal in intellect and hoof to hoof fisticuffs. Unlike Sunset, Trixie has been established as Twilight’s nemesis and knows what she’s capable of. Also unlike Sunset, Trixie did her homework and researched how to make her magic, the only thing in which she was inferior more powerful and actually had a coherent plan. Also Trixie is as a performer, a talented actress, She could very well have faked being under the influence of the amulet and only pretended to be sorry to curry sympathy. The misguided girl being corrupted by a cursed amulet may very well have been a role Trixie played to make her scheme work. Sunset just felt like Celestia just up and gave her the old heave ho for no reason but being a criminal and con artist is in Trixie’s nature.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Aharon L’anglais
What? Trixie was just a showy blowhard until Snips and Snails ruined her life, then purchased a trinket that was too powerful for her to control. She’s no mastermind, and her sole turn as a villain was the result of her lacking the intelligence needed for Moriarty’s role.

Sunset actually planned to be evil, even if her plan was lacking in the end.
Aharon L'anglais

I see dead ponies...
@Sjogre
Because Trixie works better as a recurring presence. One she truly seems to hate Twilight while Sunset just resented her. Also Trixie has a better personality for a villain like Moriarty. Also Sunset was just misguided while Trixie is truly criminal.
