She really did if you stop and think about it. She was the only one who knew her timeline was not the correct one. She held off Chrysalis on purpose to allow Twilight to set things right. Her timeline was erased from existence but she didn’t care. That is true sacrifice.

_{And for those who say Nightmare Moon was another one, she doesn’t count since she never questioned the validity of her timeline and simply wanted control of the spell to cast it}
