Okay, we’re done here.
It’s his fault because his daughter inherited the inferior pegasus genes. Therefore the child indirectly suffers as a result. This could all have been avoided if Twilight chose a unicorn for a father.
It’s pretty illogical to blame some guy for having a kid when this same situation could plausibly occur no matter who the father was.
Still responsible for it, however indirectly.
