This is meant as a series, entitled, face I assume he makes while watching shark boy and lava girl. Stop messing with the tag. It’s the title that links them together.
@Background Pony #7ED5
Its fair enough considering the style’s changed to be more even handed and to let him really expound on what’s wrong with a scene or moment way more than just going ITS AWFUL WARGH.
I’d also say he’s misreading hyper fangirl. She’s not a jab at fans, if anything she’s pandering to them.
Editorials: these are essentially what killed NC for me as of 2015. I’d like them if they were just Doug but there not so I’m suppose to take these serious debates from the guy who spends 20 minutes screaming at a movie the week prior.
Trying to have a moral with certain reviews: This is just nearing Family Guy level of bad. How am I suppose to take what you say to heart after you either spent most of your review being hypocritical (Pearl Harbor), coming off preachy (Any of the Suess adaptations) or just end you’re review that basically ruins the moral (Alice in Wonderland)
Annoying side characters: I don’t hate the extra. I just hate certain recurring characters that they play. Specifically Hyper-Fangirl & Shalamon. One is just annoying & used as a jab against certain parts of fanbases & the other is just a mean-spirited jab against a guy to appease a fanbase of a (to me) overrated show.
Going too far with statements: 8 crazy nights & Transformers AoE basically fall in this category. It’s one thing to hate a movie. It’s an entirely different thing to hate a movie & tell people who like it that they need to die…
Avatar pandering: Just….Really? You dragged Dante Basco all the way out to Chicago to act a fool…over an opinionated list? The LAB review I could buy making a big production over it but seriously?
I could go on but I won’t I didn’t hate the changes & I don’t hate everything about NuNC hell Disney Afternoon was probably my favorite episode of 2014. & he certainly isn’t bottom of the barrel like Spoony. I just think he reached his peak with the finale of TBF & is just dwindling like everything does when it goes on to long.
Just please respect my opinions & criticism & I’ll do the same to you
@Keith Mowz
I like the nostalgia critic… Sibling rivalry is funny, the Le mis is stuck in my head, the avatar stuff was funny, and his do stars are relatable and likable. Critiquing a critic seems a bit like… I don’t know… Lame? I like and sometimes agree with his critiques, so you saying they are bad… Just kinda makes me think you have bad taste.@DJ1107
@Master Fox
Just do yourself a favor & just not watch any of the revived era of NC. I mean he nowhere near as terrible & I could go down a list on the good episodes from the reboot, but my god is there so much wrong with everything in the series.
@Master Fox
It felt incredibly obvious to me from the very first episode of Demo Reel that it wasn’t going to go anywhere and that he would eventually drop it and go back to making NCs when he’d had a break from it.
He never restructured the site for it whatsoever; they got dumped unceremoniously into the ‘specials’ slot and he never made a Demo Reel section. Combined with the abysmal reception he got from it, it’s not at all surprising, though I was frustrated that he kept talking about ‘all the shows’ that he wanted to do, and yet we’ve never seen a single episode of the game show they’ve supposedly been shooting for months, and the closest things to another show is A: occasionally doing a ‘what you never new’ for an episode (which is pretty much just a list episode) B. Sibling Rivalry, aka he does out of character reviews of movies when he does a Bum Review, and C. doing cartoon vlogs.
@Master Fox
That was like two years ago. Then this happened. The next actual review wasn’t that great, but Pearl Harbor, Catwoman, Son of the Mask (which has a pony reference in the beginning of the video to boot) and the various Seus adaptations are all excellent and a hell of a way to come back. Nic Cage month was solid gold.

My web is always slow… So I always see like three minutes of this before anything. Worth it. But this is always what I think of. That first frame.
@Master Fox
Look up his avatar stuff he got the guy who voiced zuko (DANTE BOSCO)to play zuko in this whole crazy adventure… Plus he just did matrix month. It was pretty good.
@jetdrive
I love how he has not only turned to critiquing work… He has added parody and original work to the act of critiquing, and he does it very well. He not only takes shots at bad work, he shows that he can do better, with a fraction of the budget and resources. That’s why I love the nostalgia critic.
Jontron, MrEnter, Continue?, Brandon Tenold, The Completionist, Silver Quill, AVGN.
Those are guys I routinely watch & I did enjoy the NC before the reboot. I don’t have bad taste. I just got tired of him.

Your opinion is yours and you are welcome to it. But I think you just have bad taste.
Well here’s essentially what’s bad:
Editorials: these are essentially what killed NC for me as of 2015. I’d like them if they were just Doug but there not so I’m suppose to take these serious debates from the guy who spends 20 minutes screaming at a movie the week prior.

Nothing about your comment indicates that there’s anything wrong with it.

Ah, when he stopped I thought he was done so I didn’t bother looking anymore. Good to know he’s still doing it.

Really? The last time I saw one of his videos he said he was done making them himself. Or I thought that was the case.
I love how he has not only turned to critiquing work… He has added parody and original work to the act of critiquing, and he does it very well. He not only takes shots at bad work, he shows that he can do better, with a fraction of the budget and resources. That’s why I love the nostalgia critic.
It’s true.
Howso? He’s still making them.
And seriously, go watch the old ones, then the new ones. They’ve gotten significantly better than when he’d just occasionally yell at the movie.
Yeah okay
… can we have more of that tag?
