It’s a religion based on silly scriblings done by desert nomads thousands of years ago (Though Ecclesiastes is pretty nice), turned into a cult by Paul, and from that point on carried on in an endless chain of stagnation and dogma.
 
I’ll grant that the Catholic Church has done some good things and I’ll even grant that it isn’t actively evil, but the foundations are mindboglingly silly. Only reason it hasn’t reformed (apart from the schisms) is the simple fact that people believe in it.
 
The pope is infallible because people believe so. Why do thety believe it? Because the pope said so.
 
It’s all a big joke but considering the church dogma, I’m not surprised the believers might be too afraid to laugh.
