I know this may come as a shock to you, but the show’s writers have no obligation to ensure that the show’s canon maintains compatibility with whatever kinda weird headcanon that you may have.
No he didn’t?
Edited
Side note, I look forward to the inevitable Magical Mystery Cure callback.
Its why I’m enjoying the eps more then they don’t revolve around the Mane Six lately, Even tho I like them alot
That actually sounds just about right. The writers have obviously been struggling to come up with ideas what to do with Twilight now that she’s a princess…
I think they made her too malicious. If you want a proper sibling rivalry you need vitriol from both sides not just one.
To be fair, the Legends of Magic comic was set in Celestia and Luna’s distant past, when they were still young and rather immature. It does lampshade (with a sledgehammer) Luna’s growing (and partially justified) resentment of her older sister, which was never really explored in the show.
I may a bit malicious, but maybe the map sends Starlight because Twilight will be agree with all Celestia explanations. But I don’t want more saltiness and I hope a better excuse.

There’s also what the friendship problem between Celestia and Luna looks like. Until now, I felt that the conflicts between Celestia and Luna in the comics felt too out of character. Hopefully their conflict in this episode convinces me that its ok for the sisters to have this kind of problem. (Not counting their conflict in Slice of Life.)
Episode 100 nothing. If these two were incapable of having a spat then NMM would’ve never been a thing.
“screwing up royally”
Heh heh
Because the mane six mostly did their run. They reached their end. Especially Twilight because the writer doesn’t know how to handle proper grownt on characters in a way you can still use them in a logic and entertaining way later without making them regress.
That would be quite a twist, if the conflict turns out not to be the sisters not getting along but Starlight having to deal with screwing up royally.
Well… if she’ll have a magic-restraining ring on her horn and be surrounded by a guard contingent the whole time, then yeah, why not. Would be entertaining to watch her fail. Otherwise, wouldn’t let her anywhere near the Sisters, when they’re having personal problems.
And now I’m sounding like a fanboy worrying about his waifus… I’m a grown man ffs…
maybe the map called her?
