I guess looking back, this is kinda funny, considering Sakurai said it takes a year nearly to make each fighter.
Now we have 4 new DLC fighters (Mewtwo, Lucus, Roy, and Ryu) so that means they must’ve been making these DLC characters sense before SSB4 was even released.
Insert ‘revenge cycle’ comment here.
I have plans for utilizing him in a “Smash Bros. Catharsis” match. No, I’m the one controlling him, he’ll be used to dish revenge on a certain villain, who unfortunately isn’t playable, but one of Palutena’s outfits makes her resemble the character I wish to beat up on.
Yeah, that new character makes a good substitute.
I must add, that was my first game as a kid, so I was very happy to hear about that character, even if it is an odd choice.
I’m content with Duck Hunt.
I never said it was that important, I just like having more variety in the fighting styles of each character.
Also, I never said they would have DLC, I just said some fans are curious if they are.
For Discord it might
Well, what you said made no sense.
Don’t judge me!
O… … …kay?
…
Don’t ask how I know it
She?
I didn’t realize ice was so important to you.
Also, Sakurai only said he would CONSIDER putting DLC in, that’s not the same as saying he would 100% put it in. Haven’t you heard the saying “don’t count your eggs until they hatch”?
Yeah, though there’s still hardly any ice-themed fighters/attacks compared to all the fire-based fighters/attacks. (Mario, Bowser, Captain Falcon, Fox, Charizard, ect.)
So I’m still going to kinda miss the Ice Climbers, but as I said, I can do without them for one game.
Some fans are speculating if they’ll offer DLC characters in the future like “Mario Kart 8” is. That would be kinda cool. (As long as they don’t overcharge for them.)
One of Kirby’s custom moves replaces his Inhale with an icy breath attack, so it’s not gone…also, Freezies.
In regards to that, it’s still possible to win even without your Ice Climber partner. So you don’t have to suicide yourself everytime you lose one. (Plus they respawn in the next stage actually in 1-player modes usually.)
Though, I’m curious if that’s why they weren’t inlcuded, and apparently wouldn’t work on the 3DS. (According to the link I posted previously, they wouldn’t work well on the 3DS.) I guess having 8 Ice Climbers on-screen at once would kinda slow things down a bit, (with how the game runs on 60 frames per-second) but they could’ve made it so you only play as one instead.
Though, I guess if they did that, then they’d lose that “playing as 2 characters at once” unique gimmick they had. That, and their ice-elemental attacks were the main unique things about them.
Honestly, I got sick of babysitting my CPU partner. At least with Olimar, if I lose my team, I can just create new ones rather than suicide myself to respawn the partner.
I heard about that, admittedly I am going to miss them a li’l bit, but I can survive without them in the new game, sense they have alot of other great characters to.
Sakurai did explain why they were removed from the new SSB.
Though, personally I’d love to see a new improved Ice Climbers game personally.
Companies make weird decisions, let’s leave it at that. Along with the complaints over Ice Climbers being cut from Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U.
Really? “Piss” is kinda a minor swear to.
I think they decided to aim the game more at pre-teens is why. I guess they didn’t think it’d do well if they went for a T-rating, or decided they didn’t want to make it “to edgy/violent” to ostracize fans.
This is also supposedly why they edited out the “Streets of Rage” games from the USA version of “Sonic Gems Collection,” (Which came out the same year as the Shadow game) ‘cause they didn’t want it to get a T-Teen rating either.
(A move that upset many fans, including me… Even the reviewer at Nintendo Power magazine of the game questioned why they did that. At least they left the “Vectorman” games in.)
Though, the Streets of Rage games on Wii VC and 3DS’s Eshop only got E or an E-10 ratings, so I’m not sure if that was the reason.
Also, SONIC was originally going to say “hate to piss off GUN”, until it was changed to “tick off GUN”.
Why’d they even bother changing the rating? What, E10+ was new, and they wanted to cash in on it?
My only real beef with the Shadow game is, it just felt like it wasn’t finished being made. (Sega has a bad habit of rushing games to market sadly.) When I first played it, I found it a li’l frustrating, but it gets better as it goes on.
I still kinda liked it, and it had some nice concepts. (Like the branching story/level/mission paths, and destructable scenery/objects.)
I will admit it was cheesy though looking back on it. (Hard to believe that game is 9 years old now.)
It’s not a bad game, it’s just cheesy as all hell and has some bad level design decisions (Plus, having to play through the game 10 fucking times to get all the true ending)
It’s mediocre, at worst.
