If you couldn’t remember who Sunset Shimmer was, then how the heck did you even know who was riding the motorcycle??

As already mentioned below, our brains are quite proficient in patching gaps in our memories. Even if the memories on their own make no sense, the minds of humane 6 would ultimately find some way to rectify and create a proper narrative out of them. Moreover, strong emotions can easily override logic and rationality. Sunset already leaves a rather poor impression in their minds (all they know of her is her severe bullying and rudeness), so it’s entirely possible the humane 6 would have absolutely no desire to help her in any way because of all that negativity she’s given them, regardless of how broken their memories might be. If she had continued to press them for help, chances are they would have just doubled down on their stance. Not to mention that since the humane 6’s recollection of Sunset is so unpleasant, they probably wouldn’t even want to dwell on any memories possibly involving her anyway (as BP so kindly pointed out). For them, those inconsistencies don’t matter because the less time they spend thinking about the bully that almost ruined their lives, the better.

I’m not “making up” anything, I’m taking the evidence the episode gives me at face value. Do you have any evidence to back up this alternate explanation you’re presenting? Something other than that it has to be true because otherwise there’s a plot hole?

Do you even know why this plot hole exists? It’s because if Sunset is able to convince her friends there’s something wrong with their memory, than they would help her find out what’s going on… instead of Trixie. The need to include Trixie as a character, and to grow a friendship between her and Sunset, requires that Sunset can’t make any serious or realistic attempts to convince her friends. The fact she doesn’t makes no sense or logic with her character, but it’s necessary for the writers to tell the story they want. Welcome to writing, where you sometimes have to accept imperfection in order to reach a story goal, especially in a medium like television with its limit run times.

There’s no need to quadruple post either, take your time and post your thoughts clearly, this isn’t a race.

“Clearly see”
Did we see everyone’s point of view of their own memories?
No, we didn’t and considering what kinda person Sunset is pre-reformation, I doubt anyone would even want to question or re-visit those memories.

“Plot hole” Said you…
Sunset’s empathic power might able to see to see erased memories, while others only rememeber their altered ones.

You don’t get to make up things based on only Sunset’s point of view.

No. We clearly see this scene, there isn’t some other person there, no blank faced student, no anomalous figure or placeholder. It’s just Sunset, and then she’s erased, with nothing taking her place. You don’t get to make up evidence to explain away plot holes we can clearly see.

Yeah… I can see why they cut this one out, it’s the most obvious plot hole scenario. If all Sunset has to do is ask Rainbow who the other driver in the race was in order to get her doubting her own memories, well…
Eh, actually I think it adds to the special overall, since it further drives home how Sunset has been erased from her friend’s memories and how terrible that is. It wasn’t a necessary scene by any means, but I can see why it’s there.
Our brains tend to automatically fill in the blanks when it comes to scrambled memories. They probably remember some blank-faced student instead. Would have been nice to see that animated, but the important thing is that they don’t remember Sunset.

Your reply is kinda jumbled, I’m not really sure what you mean.

But it’s a plot hole because the race is divided into three teams, two people per team. Sunset was Rainbow Dash’s partner, but in the altered memory, she doesn’t remember that. But Dash should be able to remember the rules of the race, and realize she can’t remember who the other racer was. Many of the plot holes in Forgotten Friendship revolve around keeping the main six sidelined, instead of pressing them to doubt their memories, and convince them to help fix their own heads. Questions like, ‘how did you contact Princess Twilight without my journal,’ or ‘how did you stop Midnight Sparkle.’ Even simple solutions like Princess Twilight going through the mirror herself, or at least sending Starlight to explain things. Wallflower said it herself, she only erased their good memories of Sunset, so they’d still remember Twilight and Starlight saving them.

Starslayer159 how is this a plot hole knowing Rainbow Dash
she probably would think that Sunset Shimmer got her intel from some place
else in how would she know about the other drivers face considering everybody
was there from the bleachers to where the principal’s, dean are meaning she will
assumed that Sunset Shimmer got it from somebody else or photo when some one took
a picture of the race not to mention when she showed them proof that they were friends
by taking out her phone and showing group pictures of herself being with them
an still didn’t believe her.
