If it had just been some of the concepts for g5 I might buy that, but we got way more than that. Episodes got leaked, staff e-mails got leaked, info about the movie got leaked. Heck, we learned about G5 through this leak.

If I’m remembering this correctly, there was a second hack a few weeks after the first. Among the new batch of leaked E-mails were a series of communications between Hasbro and EQD indicating that they were cooperating to ID the hacker/hackers. The suspicion is that EQD’s shortlived discussion of the leaks was some kind of attempt to flush out the hacker or at least gather information on them.

This is something you will have to look for on your own since it’s against Derpibooru’s rules to provide links. Equestria Daily once changed their mind and had an article with the concept art but less then a day later, the images were removed and they went back to their previous stance on the subject.

Half a year ago there was a massive hack of Hasbro. Emails, season 8 episodes, concept art, and plans for the next few years were leaked. However a lot of pony sites, including this one will not allow this concept art to be posted (fan art based on the concept art is ok).
 
We know that season 9 will be the last one next year and then it will end in a movie. After that G5 will start in the later part of 2020.
