I don’t think even she intended to do that in front of the princess.
He’s just trying to do his job
XD
Looking up at you like a kid saying “Are we going to the park, daddy?”.
Just look at that adorable little shit!
they’re pretty good about drawing ponies moving like horses in the show (except that they almost never gallop), and just sorta pull out their shoulders whenever they need ‘em.
kind of an interesting thought, whether ungulates wouldn’t keep the immobile shoulders if they evolved to a more generalist niche, rather than specializing in running. that’d also explain the not-skinny legs. (horse legs are skinny to make go fast fast)
Oh, that makes sense. I guess I’m more used to other art styles where ponies have a ball-and-socket joint like humans do.
horses don’t really have shoulders though.
their forelegs bend at the elbows. the shoulder joint at (A) is p. much immobile
Edited because: Rule #7 & >>implyra
Considering the way he was holding it, pushed off by Lyra’s behind.
Ah yes, an excellent point. So used to synthetic leather in modern society and I was going off of remembered info from D&D.
As a side note, the one bit about the armor that does tweak me a bit is that its a turtle neck. Which would be wonderfully impractical to get over ones head. Though it should be noted they do make chain mail pieces that wrap around ones neck that could be in use here.
Actually, mail would more likely have been worn over a padded cloth suit called a gambeson. Unfortunately, since anything made from organic materials rots away over time, there’s little evidence just what medieval soldiers wore under their metal armor, but considering the amount of cowhide it would take to make armor vs the same amount being used for several sets of footwear, and taking into account the relative abundance of cloth-making materials, I think it more likely that soldiers would have worn the cheaper, more abundant cloth gambeson.
…Actually, look up Shadiversity, Skallagrim, or any of the related medieval enthusiasts on Youtube, they explain it much better and in more detail than I can, and there are some fascinating testing footage that shows how durable and effective gambesons and mail armor would have been.
