It’s too early to tell what the reason is for not inviting Spike, if any is given at all.  
Besides, you’ll always get people who will make over-the-top speculations on plot points in episodes.
 
Hopefully, they’ll deal with an Spike has had enough of not being included in certain big events, and does something about it.

I’n betting Spike wasn’t given an invitation because he’s part of the group, and it’s just expected for everyone to be involved without the need of an invitation.  
At least, it’d make sense to somepony like Princess Cadance.

It’s Cadance. She doesn’t thank anyone who isn’t herself. Heck, I bet she never thought back to the wedding and thought “Wow, I am so thankful Twilight came to save me, even if she tried to kill me.” I bet she went “Wow, I am so powerful that I created a shield all by myself. No one helped me. I am just as powerful as Celestia herself. No. MORE powerful because my love knocked her out! I am super special awesome!”

To be honest, she was, like, half asleep right before Shining threw her. So she might not have noticed spike on her back when she grabbed the Crystal Heart.
