It’s cool, I’m not trying to hate or anything, as I like the image, (and it’s always nice to see comic/IDW art, which is rare nowadays, due to most bronies not liking the comics) and I suppose it’d be hard to picture how some comic designs look in the show style.
 
It’s kinda interesting to hear how the image was made. Thanks for the insight. Not many artists share that.

I did attempt to get the characters as close to Fosgitt’s as possible but still with the thick lines of the show. Discord used a Snails base with some adjustments to make his head a bit thinner, and I thought that comic Celestia’s mane resembled Rainbow Dash’s style. Fosgitt didn’t really draw either with a mane past their scalps, so I took some liberties there and kept Discord bald up top and gave Celestia that pegasus swoosh. Celestia’s mane color was sampled from the comic itself. Ironically, when I sampled her coat color, it was the same color as regular Celestia, so I used her show coat colors here. Also, her eye colors stayed the same as well, since they’re black dots in the comic. I probably should have put her in the little black dress as well, but that would have hid her tail and cutie mark. And you’re right… her muzzle in the comic is larger than average. Even the parade of background ponies all had smaller muzzles than Celestia did. I probably could have/should have done her ears drooping instead of perky as well, maybe some more spikiness in her mane…
 
Of course, it could also be said that Discord’s spell wasn’t intended to make her stand out from the crowd… it would have defeated the purpose.
 
Ultimately, she was a nice challenge as opposed to the usual “Sunny Skies” that we’ve seen used since the pilot in similar situations.

I dunno, I liked Fosgitt’s designs in it. (I even thought Celestia’s disguise form was adorkable.) My only beef with it was Discord’s pony disguise looked like Odie the dog.
 
But it’s not just due to the art, if you compare disguised Celestia with the Mane 6 she looked different, (which I kinda liked personally) so it’s a shame artists when depicting her, just make her look like every other pony, rather then be creative with the design. Above she looks too generic, and nothing like the comic character, as she was supposed to look a li’l different from other ponies. (Even from the way Fosgitt usually draws them.)
 
Discord looks ok here, so at least he stands out a bit.

I think it was just the way they were drawn that bother me. I have absolutely nothing against the artist, but I think that comic in particular would have been better done by another artist.

Considering the comic made Celestia’s disguise form look a bit different then other ponies, (compare ‘em in that story, she didn’t have the same kinda snout as others, and a messier mane) shouldn’t she look a li’l different too?

These designs are far better than the ones in the comic.
