EG in general makes more sense if you write the first movie off as “they hadn’t quite figured the whole thing out yet”.
And yet, thinking back to the opening segment of Equestria Girls, Sunny slipped through the mirror, performed a night-time heist entirely on her own, and escaped before Twiley, Celly or Luna could stop her.
She didn’t have any difficulty adjusting back to being a pone again in that movie, and that was like…6 months, maybe a year ago in-universe? And she’d already been in the EqG universe for at least 2-3 years by that point…
English subtitles are all we have for now until they air on TV in a few weeks.

Yeah, I know. I actually watched Dance Magic in Polish already. I just prefer watching it in English.
