Actually this mini series was a request, and this one part of it, that Rarity shrinks Big Mac too. So I had no real control over it like that. And in my headcanon at least, Rarity can cast many kinds of magic, I mean her talent is magic related, so even though her talent is magic, I think its still possible for her to learn higher level spells, or at least some of them

That still doesn’t answer my qestion. Yeah I know artists can do pretty much whatever they want with their comics and so they can make them contain stuff that is not part of canon world but it still made me wonder what happened since Rarity can’t do stuff like that in the show. She is not Twilight after all. I think I’m going way too deep with this so I guess we can leave it as silly thing in silly comic that doesn’t really make sense because it’s not the point here.
She was getting lonely and wanted company that wouldn’t be able to easily move her with basic-strength levitation.
