That is why socialism needs to be adopted more to balance out, to fight the bigot extremists (Neighsay in this case, as Twi was under her ego-preserving fear back then, but Comrade Glimmer got nothing of that to lose).

To be honest, it makes sense for Starlight to think about reform in Shadow Play because that is NOT what Twilight does very often. Nightmare Moon was just about defeat, Discord turned to stone (reformed at Celestia’s behest), Chrysilis tossed out of Equestria, Sombra blew up, and Tirek zapped. Even during Starlight’s first appearance she only talked about stopping her at the end. Hell, even during the second fight, she only tried to reform Starlight when she literally could not stop her and talking was the only way.

Even with your explanation, I feel like Starlight’s characterization still tends to flounder about. Shadow Play feels a bit off due to being literally RIGHT after Uncommon Bond, (chronologically too!) so I think School Daze makes more sense as far as the character goes.

I just hope it sticks this time and Starlight doesn’t fall into another relapse.

I think People can’t see why Starlight’s intervention made sense in both Shadow Play AND School Daze:
-She was a reformed villain and it made sense she was the only one who felt that banishing the Pony Of Shadows/Stigyan was wrong. Twilight was blinded by her idolatration over Starswirl, and so were the other Mane 6 (and it doesn’t help they still had quite a record in defeating evil villains in past).
-As Starlight Said, Twilight fought very hard ro make her “seeing the light” why don’t do it For that school as well? That’s why she having that role IMO was more sensical than using the other Mane 6 (especially since they were still reluctant in the School thing considering How things initially went).

To cut this short: Both the situation happened in Shadow Play and School Daze touched Starlight personally, that’s why she was more determined in helping Twilight, those moments weren’t bull***** at all. Honestly this Starlight hate is really getting on My nerves and makes me even more glad that the S9 Will be the last one: No more new FiM eps, no more brony fandom, no more Starlight Drama.

And all of this came from someone who deeply hated To Where and Back Again.

At this point Starlight is better suited to be the spirit of chaos than Discord is. Her mere presence can tear the fandom apart!
