Its just the logic of shippers who thought Fluttermac was canon because of Filly Vanilly had them interacting and they cling to that until Sugarmac became canon. Same will happen to people seeing Dislestia in little details like apology flowers or shared picture on Twilight’s room when they ignore the bigger picture and actual emotional development between Discord and Fluttershy which is the most important part of any romantic subplot. The show will never ship main characters without bonding them as friends. Interactions are essential for them to develop further. It doesn’t “friendzone” them but actually suggest that they will feel more comfortable getting married at some point in the future.

agreed. I get everyone ships what they want and personally I find alot of good artwork from dislestia and all and all other ships there are GREAT artists out there i love the art actually but when people scream canon over dislestia that where i get kinda fumbled as to why they think that or how it exists as an overall I know it sounds rude but logically. he worships the ground flutters walks on he has had no actual interaction or build up and foundation with celestia its mostly a pairing because people cling onto one flower scene as an end credit apology the writer shot down herself. it just bugs me when they scream canon. it isnt iv seen no actual proof and it makes no sense given the logic people try and put behind it.its just common sense. i get fluttershy and discord are friends BUT they are HEAVILY implied as atleast a small crush. i seen people who dont even care for the show say this and even people who dont even ship at all say it makes sense. i feel people ignore a strong bond and over obsession of a life long but so much strengthed bond over some stupid flower end credit apology scene with the colors of the friendship rainbow. i think it takes more to like someone then just flowers. plus we already saw the season 6 finale he never cared for celestia why do people still keep calling it canon when he lost his shit over fluttershy scooped her up cuddled her was that celestia he did this with? no. did he try to impress her and get jealous over her the whole time at the gala? no. are they close or interact alot? no. it just amazes me. yeah i know i got a little out of hand but this is just logic here.

People like IlovekimPossible would see it as canon if just Three’s a Crowd episode was replaced with dislestia and had Discord write letters to Celestia. Hell, Keep Calm and Flutter On havin Celestia reform Discord would already canonise it for most people. The fact that only recently people see Fluttercord in canon only show how much people don’t see Fluttershy as an actual “woman/mare” that is able to develop romantically at all just because of her meek nature and small posture.

This is so true also I can agree with the whole imagine if you put celestia in fluttershys place if they think discord and celestia are canon right now? imagine if celestia was fluttershy you know damn well theyd be creaming canon because build up like that has alot of potential to it and they only say basically against it ust because they want their ship to happen so they disregard all the shot downs of dislestia at any turn and shoot down fluttercord despite the strong bond between the 2 and honestly if they replaced fluttershy but with celestia i know guarenteed 100% straight forward fact they would be yelling canon from the roof tops if it was her and not fluttershy. ya see??

I don’t dislike romance, in fact I kinda like Cadance & Shining Armor’s wedding episode. That had some romance in it.  
Not to mention, I enjoyed “A Perfect Pear,” which did too.  
I just don’t think the show needs to give every character/s “romance,” pair them up, or focus too heavily on it. I’m just not that into most fan-shippings either, but it’s fine if others are.  
It’s not really a bizarre opinion to have.

I’m not one to jump into shipping whenever two characters act friendly to one another. I can clearly see that Trixie and Starlight or Thorax with Spike had no intentional teasing but i can also see that there were intentional ship teasing in moments like Big Mac blushing around Marble or Fluttershy blushing in Discord arms in S6 finale or Discord placing a heart shaped sandwich in Discordant Harmony. With Fluttercord overall is more obvious because he act extra protective of her and always point out their closeness as something more important. Had entire episode about him being jealous or him rescuing her from a changeling threat. And as opposed to friendships like Sparity and Trixie/Starlight, Fluttershy herself shown interest by showing why exactly she likes him in their recent episode.  
Of course the best way to see if there was intentional ship teasing it is best to go to you tube and watch around 2-4 reaction videos over episodes like Discordant Harmony, To where and back again or Make new friends but keep Discord and to see if people mention shipping.  
And theres also an easy test for people who don’t ship fluttercord but like Dislestia or PinkieCord or whatever. Simply rewatch their episodes and comics since S3 and replace Fluttershy with Celestia or Pinkie and think about how it would change your outlook on their relationship. Because i’m pretty sure Dislestia would be considered canon by now even by people who don’t ship at all. That’s because Fluttershy make an illusion of being too unmature for romance or that Discord is too big or old for relationship with smaller and younger ponies. These things should not be considered as viable to reject the ship since show runners just don’t think it’s wrong in modern society. I’m sure people would not ship Beast with Belle if they didn’t know the romantic angle from the get go but this is how they are written. Discord saves her from changeling like Beast from wolves, Belle see a soft side of Beast just as Fluttershy see his other “sweetheart” side that mane6 cannot see early on. Just because Belle didn’t fell for Beast when they first met doesn’t mean he was somehow “friendzoned” in the story. In thus this is why their relationship has potential for canonisation and not neccessary in the last season of FiM. It’s because their dynamic in the current episodes would almost not changed at all if they were an official couple. Discord already act like her boyfriend.

If FlutterCord is teased in canon, I kinda fail to see it, but some fans always seem to look for romance where there isn’t any intended, no offense. I’ve seen people giving shipping tags to images here that aren’t shipping at all. (Even confirmed by the fanartists themselves.)

Not to mention it would not take any effort for hasbro to sink fluttercord as platonic by just making discord say that shes like a sister to him or something or just make him appear as adult in equestria girls. Yet they play them out as beauty and beast but at the phase where beast and belle were just friends in the story.

Yeah, even though Fluttercord is my least favorite because it almost ruined Fluttershy’s friendships with the Mane Five because they were so mad at him and they cause drama.

I dont think it is wrong or that it will never happen but it is your opinion. But you are clearly wrong if you think that they are played as crackship by show staff like they do with rarijack or lyrabon. Their episodes mostly focus on their relationship and contain intentional ship teasing in both dialogue and visual background and all in different episods, seasons and comics. It woudnt take much effort for hasbro to make it official as they already know how popular they are as a ship and how little resistance there is against it.

And honestly, no offense, but “Fluttercord” is kinda “wrong.” (Normal pony/person X the immortal spirit of chaos, who’s basically a reality-warping eldritch abomination) It was amusing as a humorous crack-ship, but it’ll never happen officially.  
I do enjoy their close friendship though. I kinda prefer platonic “friendshipping,” over romantic shipping personally.

To be honest, they don’t really need love interests right now. It wouldn’t add anything to the show, or their personalities. If they ’ship ‘em with a new character, fans would flip. If they ‘ship ‘em with an old one, fans would flip. It’s lose-lose.
