“Let me preface this… You may not be a native of Equis, but since your arrival through the portal a few years ago, you have carefully and tactfully integrated yourself with the right ponies, and have amassed quite the wide circle of acquaintances and loyal friends here, from what I have been able to gather.”
“You have deftly navigated the cutthroat social minefield that is the upper echelons of pony nobility unscathed, and not only that, but you are actively thriving here. I am a low-born mare, and I only sound like I do because I, too, wished to be part of the upper classes, and took elocution lessons in order to better fit in. Not that it worked as well as I originally had hoped.”
“Make no mistake, I live a good life, I love my job, and I have Bits to spare, but… But in order to get anywhere in my line of work, you need to make the right connections with the right ponies, or you will never, ever be truly taken seriously, or really be appreciated at all by the ponies that I play for- and that gets upsetting, after a while.”
“You managed to do it, easily, from what I have discovered.”
“I am not jealous… Well, maybe a little… But I wanted to ask you, well, what is your secret? How did you manage to do it with such grace and aplomb? Is there any advice someone such as yourself could give somepony like me in order to further my career?”

Today I felt like it was time to post my very first depiction of Octavia Melody, one of my favourite background characters from the show. I decided to use this base because I don’t think I’ve seen many pics of Octavia in this sort of pose before.
