I don’t think Twilight even realized Lyra lived in Ponyville. She was on Twilight’s list of Old Friends To Reconnect With, but had to be told by Minuette that she’d moved. I’m totally assuming Twi reconnected with Lyra individually after the crisis of repairing a life she’d ruined had passed.
I could see them being there to reconnect, only to have Cheeselegs break them. A shame it doesn’t really work, since two of them live in the same town as Twilight.
