That’s because she is a dislestia shippers and that’s literally it. He never cared for Celestia besides one end credit apology flower scene and even then did the same thing with fluttershy and celestia giving fluttershy roses season 8. Flowers do not correspond love. Build up, trust and chemistry and interaction do. At least real love since some of the best relationships include being close friends before hand because it gives you time to know them truly and a much better reason to date just like my relationship with my girlfriend.

I think he did it in a way that he can get away with.
