YMMV, I wanted to see more of Sombra too but I thought it was awesome!

Yeah, Sombra’s appearance and immediate dispatching were very anticlimatic.

Ah quit complaining about bad villains, if they were good then the protagonists would never win.

@Rig Like I said, we saw his horn fly straight at the screen. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was now in individual pieces, each of them possessing a pony to find and recombine with each other, so that he can take his revenge on Twilight and her friends.
 
…Huh, getting a Grandia II vibe from that idea….

His horn was still in one piece when he exploded. There’s still some speculation that he’s still alive since he regrew his horn after the barrier cut part of it off.

He certainly went out with a bang though.  
I wonder how many chunks of him ended up smacking someone in the face.

They really seemed to be building him up as an evil reflection of Twilight, seeing as he was apparently a normal but magically powerful unicorn before the Princesses blasted him. It would have been interesting to see a villain operating on the same power level as the heroes.

I liked that he was more of a lurking villian. More of an evil force than an actual person (pony).

SOMBRA YOU HAD ONE JOB

Personally, I don’t think he was killed when the Crystal Heart was activated. Remember, when Cadance’s shield came up that one time, it sliced off a part of Sombra’s horn. And when Sombra and his dark crystals (heh) were shattered by the Crystal Heart’s light, we saw his horn fly straight at the camera.
 
Now that the Crystal Empire is beyond his reach, I think Sombra is going to try and get revenge on Twilight and her friends; I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he turned out to be a seasonal villain, hiding in the shadows again until revealing himself in the season finale.

It was a tad underwhelming.

I’m already looking for his horn.

I was disappointed we didn’t get to see any personality from this villain. That would’ve nice. Sadly, he got 9 lines of dialog, the stereotypical “NO!” as his final words, and then death.  
Though, his horn is still out there, and we saw he regenerate it. So maybe he might return? But even there, my hopes are low for that.

Don’t worry Sombra, the twenty-part fanfiction and shipping fanart are on the way!
