Yup, that’s fun. But Twilight was supposed to jump in a birthday party. The details, man, the details.
Or predestined. Which leads me back to the Bioshock Infinite thing. XD
Perhaps the celebration was held in Ponyville every year. Nightmare Moon also went there to say a speech. The elements of harmony were in the everfree forest in the two sisters palace. But the elements of harmony lives in the rest of mane six in Ponyville. They were the key and the friendship to use it and cure Nightmare Moon. When Celestia used the elements of harmony she just banished Nightmare Moon.
Only Lauren Faust knows what was the point. Or she neither. Fate, oracle, luck. It just happened smoothly because friendship is magic… Celestia did nothing. She just sent Twilight to walking around in ponyville. All members of the mane six participated in the implementation of the celebration. Twilight had the obligation to speak with them because of the celebration. Then they became friends by a snap.
It is also luck that Twilight Sparkle has read about the elements of harmony before the event.
She can’t just be proceeding as though they are because there’s no attainable win condition otherwise? And she’d know where the elements should be, since she’s presumably the one who had them last and thus would be the one who left them there.
That’d mean she did have a premonition of the Bearers and it was really fucking vague. Vague clairvoyance is a reccuring ability in multiple mediums. Most of the time, it’s called a hunch, lol. However, if you factor in magic or PSI, than you have characters with the ability to see an unforseeable event using magic or PSI. Like in FiM or JoJo. :3
She doesn’t. But she’s hoping they’re in Ponyville, because otherwise Twilight won’t be able to find both anyway, at least not before Nightmare Moon cuts her quest short.
Or there’s not just one specific set of bearers, and they can be used by anypony worthy.
How did she know who the Bearers are if she doesn’t
wield the Monadoget visions irregularly. Kind of like Ezra that time. Possibly all Jedi, too, I assume. :3Celestia has a rare magical ability called “pattern recognition”.

It doesn’t take magic to explain this. Celestia simply knew how her sister would act and planned accordingly. She knew Nightmare Moon would come for her, so she placed the Summer Sun Celebration as close as she could to the Elements of Harmony in order to give Twilight and (hopefully) her friends the best shot possible at gaining the power to defeat Nightmare Moon.
Which is odd because there are less than 50 images tagged “monado”. XD
When you live for at least two millenia, you don’t need miraculous prophetic powers for precognition.
If Celestia is slightly precognitive, it would actually explain why her plan in Twilight’s Kingdom appeared to make no sense and fill one of the three major plotholes in the episode.
When was it ever implied that Tirek was in Canterlot? That city could have been anywhere.
Anyway, I got the impression that she was having a vision of the present, not the future.
I kinda hate the idea that Celestia’s absolutely awful plan in Twilight’s Kingdom was all just a Xanatos Gambit because that kinda removes any stakes from the plot.
Those scenes are just like friendship solves everything. Celestia sent twilight home to hiding with the alicorn powers… Like she didnt know that Tirek wants all of the pony magic from everywhere. “just go home, hide and say nothing.”
The Nightmare Moon thing was like “no para, sun celebration, get some friends”. So that really seems a bit prophetic.
The show itself only says luck she has friends and she is the chosen. The end.
Yeah, apparently Celestia can sense when there’s some evil force lurking in Canterlot sucking out the life force of ponies. Good thing there was never a point in the plot prior to Tirek where that skill would’ve come in handy.
…oh. Yeah. That would’ve been a good time…
Theres a theory thats been around since the season four finale that Celestia can see the future, hence her vision of Tirek. We’ve only seen it once but from how confidently she sends Twilight into high risk situations with no fear whatsoever of her safety, it is not entirely impossible.
Perhaps it was anticipating her sister’s thoughts? Maybe it was just something about the spell that would transpose the two, so Celestia knew that Luna would end up wherever she was?
She probably knew she would go to the Summer Sun Celebration to brag,
Yeah seems like Celestia covered her bases on this one. It’s almost like she knew specifically that Nightmare Moon would appear in Ponyville.
she literally says that making friends is more important IIRC.
