Well, it is meant to be more cartoony. and simplified. Regardless, the above image admittedly does look odd, like they’re just pasted there.
 
Some of the other abstract Pony Life backgrounds look better though, so it is jarring.

Oh my, those eyes on that gif. I never noticed.
 
And yea, It’s just that Pony Life’s “crudeness” (I really don’t know else to call it) is noticeably a lot more exagerated than FiM.

I think it’s just part of the artstyle… You know, that crude one that just simply doesn’t care about perspective at all. Kind of like how a child would draw.
