“That’s a good point, but we want to try democracy.”  
“Well, they also have democracy on the local level.”  
“That system works for a massive pony empire, but I think at our size, we only need the one level of government. Say, dragons aren’t much more numerous than us. How does their leadership work?”  
“Undisputed and unquestioned lordship. Their princess recently became the new dragon lord.”  
“So feudalism?”  
“I know what you’re thinking, but it wasn’t just hereditary. She had to win a gauntlet.”  
“So, they were looking for the biggest and strongest to lead? That’s how Chrysalis became queen.”  
“Granted, that sums up the previous dragon lord, and that was what he intended, but she won through wit and cooperation, with yours truly.”  
“Oh, well then, you’re experienced in regime change. I guess I lucked out befriending you first.”
 
(That description turned into a scene of dialogue pretty quickly.)

i am thinking they are going a Vampire esque route here. The changelings are cursed and need to feed on love to replace something the curse has fucked with. Vampires need blood to sustain their undead state.
 
Would explain his reaction there. Maybe he is more resistant to it, and he is sstruggling to keep himself from trying to feed………..
 
Albeit that would open up a ‘chrysalis redemption’ type scenario. Means her actions are because of a curse that has overtaken her.
 
Though that would make Alt chrysalis canon as well at the same time it makes aku tree, evul for evul chrysalis non canon.

That part was funny, showing that his years of servitude had been hardwired into his brain. That is, unless it’s a genetically inherent trait of changelings in a whole.

The entire villain team got literally no ending. At this point the comics really are the dumping ground since they’ve been forbidden to touch on zebras (and griffons before) until the show gets to them.
