Pinks is simply being nonchalant despite her predicament. It’s like she knows they’re going to be rescued in the end, probably because she finally got Rarity to yell for help instead of faintly crying for it.
Is she singing the first bit of “Help!” by the Beatles or something? :P
There is a supposed to be an epilogue. I originally wanted the aftermath to imply AJ and TS roping them out in the nick of time, but it looks like a good opportunity to also feature RD and FS aiding, since they can easily fly over the pit (there is still the risk of them getting rubberbanded into the slop).
I put way too much thought for something as simple as a quicksand scenario.
Why not? AJ would always be organized like that for a rescue mission.
And Twilight… well, she’s always organized, period. She maybe didn’t expect that, though.
