I’m going to go to a less weird comments board, where people just bitch about the image instead of starting spontaneous conversations about salsa and its medical implications.

Uh…how did we go from discussing this image to stomach acid-reflux or…whatever?
Basically its a crapshoot. If I eat it earlier in the day its less likely to be an issue, but yeah. If I have chips and salsa or pizza for anything later than maybe lunch and I don’t take something like pepto or tums before I go to sleep I can expect to be jolted awake coughing/aspirating stomach acid.
Oh sure, be all “Myeh myeh myeh, valid medical concerns” about it. Does it help to eat hot stuff early so it has time to process before you get horizontal? Totally not asking ‘cuz I’m old and live in constant horror of someday no longer being able to boil my face off with capsicum any more or anything.
As someone who absolutely loves chips and salsa and tacoes but has lost the ability to eat spicy food like salsa without getting severe heartburn at night, I greatly appreciate that their mild is delicious and can eat it without turning my stomach into an acid-spewing factory when I try to sleep. :I
I really hate Pace Picante; they’re still running those “Nyoo Yawrk CITTEH?!?” commercials even though they’re based in New Jersey now and they deliberately bred a jalapeño with zero scoville units so their “mild salsa” wouldn’t frighten their grandmothers by having any flavor in it at all. It’s pitiful, their “hot” is already about as hot as chunky ketchup.
