Yeah, it was 100% the moral and legal culpability of whoever gave him that submachine gun; I was like eleven or twelve the only time I ever fired a full auto carbine, but the guy who handed it to me made sure I understood basic firearm safety first and explained in detail how to hold it and how it would jump around, and he made me shoot a few rounds through it on semi to make sure I could handle it.

I still don’t know why someone thought that would be a good idea. I mean, I had trouble when a .22 when I was twelve (And I’m a pretty broad dude) so I can’t believe someone could rationalize “Oh, let’s give the eight year a fully automatic weapon, what’s the worse that could happen?”.

Dumb as they are, our gun laws are still not half as stupid as those of any of the Commonwealth countries.
 
Giving difficult-to-handle guns to people who don’t have the training or ability to operate them properly is a hi-larious way to end up with one of those funny, funny videos where an eight year old shoots himself in the head with an FA Micro Uzi. My mother in law brought one of her Japanese exchange student friends out to the ranch once to shoot, since he’d never have the chance to do so back home, and I made for damn sure to explain everything to him in detail before giving him my easiest to handle .22s to make sure he had the basics down before I gave him anything larger.

It still amazes me how people find it funny to give inexperienced heavy caliber firearms and watch them get smacked in the face. Okay, yeah, it is funny, but even I think it’s dangerous, and I think the first rule of firearm handling is a bit too paranoid.*
 
And regarding the Judge, well, USA firearms regulations are stupid, so no surprise there, to be honest.

Most indoor ranges these days have a policy of only allowing one round to be loaded at a time with .500S&W, thanks to how dreadfully common it is for people– who somehow weren’t expecting the kick on those monsters to be quite so monstrous– to panic-grip the gun and squeeze the trigger again when it muzzle flips straight up. That $#!+ will take out the overhead fixtures and install a new skylight. >_<
 
I’m still sad that Taurus wasn’t able to slide the Raging Judge past the BATF; a .28ga 6” revolver would have been a hell of a fun handcannon.

Well, if you have a proper firing position and your wrist isn’t made of paper mache, I doubt you’ll get hit in the face with anything short of a .500 S&W.
 
Thing is, if you don’t, even .22 LR can have pretty strong recoil, and I speak from experience on this.

Very easy? Yeah sure. XD I went and watch the unfunny ones. They fired them but, their arms and hands flailed around a bit. They never bothered to show if they actually HIT the target at acceptable ranges. Just gawk at the babes. Its all show and no substance.

The Deagle is actually a very easy gun to fire for its calibers, if your hands are big enough to get around that giant brick of a grip; it’s gas operated and very heavy– which eats up a lot of recoil– and all the weight is balanced forward, so there’s very little muzzle flip compared to pretty much any other magnum cartridge platform. They make excellent hunting handguns if you don’t mind that they weigh about as much as an engine block.
 
Remember that the whole point of those obnoxious “Watch my tiny little [soon to be ex-] girlfriend try to fire this gigantic gun that I deliberately didn’t give her any instruction on firing!!” videos is to make unsuspecting shooters look ridiculous. There are also videos out there of Mossad Ayoob’s 11 year old daughter firing full size 1911s and rockin’ the 25 yard X-ring like a pro, and my sooooper disabled wife can shoot minute-of-bad-guy with my .45s even with flopsy muscles and loose joints; it’s all in the training.

Nah, Son– Rule 3 is keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot; unless she was expecting ninjas in the rafters, she was on it too soon.
