Description
In pro wrestling, the spike piledriver is a tandem move in which one wrestler hoists his opponent in a standard piledriver while his partner leaps from the turnbuckle and presses down on the soles of the helpless opponent’s boots, thus “spiking” his head into the mat for a greater impact. This was the finishing maneuver employed by Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard in the WWF during the late ’80s when they were billed as The Brain Busters.

You made me smirk with that one. Although the Pony Tones sweater she wore in Filli Vanilli is in need of being elbow dropped. I think it’s the ugliest thing she’s ever worn. The dragon costume was sexier than that rag.

Yes, it’s true. The hinge had a neat design which allowed for easy removal/replacement. I suppose the range of the hinge’s angle could have been a little better. In any case, Mattel redesigned them but by that I got out of DC Universe Classics collecting.
From what I recall from my days in the Mattel forums, the Stands Of The Gods was the Whippy Superpose stands.

but the plastic and hinge seems to be more sturdy than the one’s bandai are using. though it’s not as versatile (trade-off of structural integrity…)
Mattel sold these on their website. They were called flying stands and they came with 3 different clips to accommodate the waists of their DC Universe Classics, Masters of the Universe Classics, and a small one for female figures. They were rather disappointing since the plastic was cloudy instead of transparent. They were better for hovering poses than for flying poses.
