And if I told you that you’re still assuming incorrectly, that would be spoiling a major part of the movie. The trailer doesn’t tell all, if it did tell all so as to avoid confusion it would spoil itself.

well I like that guy’s video, but his argument was basically people try to fool you by framing things in a way that benefits themselves no matter what. and… that there’s this movie that used a framing device that’s pretty cool. the movie is a satire, making us laugh at the idea of someone guaranteed success because they act white, but it’s still the same framework of separating black and white, economics and entitlement. I’m tired of that framework. it’s a worn out joke, that stopped being funny a long time ago, for me at least.
 
I might watch the movie, I guess. it’s nice to see a story commenting on social isolation that “the world of” telemarketing is such a good example of. I just wish they didn’t do it with a story about how a black man succeeds by acting white, but loses his black soul to whiteness.

It’s like you were aiming for it but you went wide by fifty miles.

so a black dude who’s black, and also black, and he’s also blacksexual because blacks are sexual, did we mention sex, is broke and heavily in debt because that’s what black people are. he leaves his poor black neighborhood full of blacks and gets a job as a telemarketer. tragically, he’s too black to be successful, until another black, extra black dude teaches him to fool the clueless whities by pretending to be white. and suddenly he starts succeeding, gets promoted to the top of the company, gets his own elevator, his own personal strip club (did we mention sex?) and his girlfriend breaks up with him because he’s not black enough for her. then there’s a bunch of black people having a black protest over black rights, complete with harassed riot police, but since he’s not black enough he gets beaned on the head for helping white people. then he gets kidnapped by the director’s self insert who proceeds to fangasm all over him.
 

 
I may have to pass this one up.
