Use TGTF for transformations that include gender changes? Fine. The issues is that transgender is already being used for pictures that have to do with being transgender.
 

I have never heard of that restriction before in my life, and given how the artists and image posters have been using the term, neither have they. Heck, given how many things have been aliased into it, neither have the mods. Like it or not, Rule 63 is now in common usage to refer to gender swaps of any flavor.

Rule 63 still doesn’t cover actual transformation, though. So it’s still inaccurate.
 
Again, transgender applies to both definitions.

I’ve said my piece, but if I can speak for the other side of the discussion, if a single tag is necessary, I would favor TGTF/TFTG (whichever format they prefer) or ‘crossgender’ and deem either acceptable. TGTF/TFTG keeps their nomenclature, and does not use the ‘transgender’ tag which is the cause of this discussion.

The two types of pictures contain content that are different, you’d agree. Thus, they must have tags unique to them. You can have ‘transgender (transformation)’. You can keep your “transgender” terminology, now specifically categorized as ‘transformation’ ones.

Wait, what exactly are you changing the tags on? Because gender swap was already folded into Rule 63, and I don’t think that you want to go through the entire tag to search that out.

I’ve changed it on some pictures where characters are transforming, ones tagged gender bent or something like that.

Okay. You finally got my attention. I’m here now. I’m gonna start this off by saying, everything I say is based on how I have perceived the tags to be used specifically on Derpibooru, by the majority of users, so while I will keep in mind the points raised by the main parties involved here, I’m not siding with anyone in particular.
 
To begin with, the transgender tag doesn’t have much precedent in terms of TF here. We’ve also used rule 63 and its variants to describe both transformations and alternate universes; none of the aliases seemed specific to one or the other. Prior to this discussion, there was no specific tag for (as one user put it) TGTF, the earliest example I can find was simply tagged transformation.
 
Given that transformation of both gender and species is the most highly contested issue, and given that there are plenty of examples of this, I do think it needs its own tag. However, I question the syntax of transgender (transformation) as it doesn’t make apparent that the species is changing as well. It also does not preclude other tags, such as transformation, rule 63, or human to pony - rather, I think it should imply these tags.
 
My solution to this dispute is to alias transgender (transformation) to tgtf along with a handful of alternate spellings, and to have it imply the tags I mentioned above. rule 63 will continue to be the primary tag to define all genderswaps, transformative or otherwise - just add the transformation tag, it’s okay to use two tags to describe a picture! I advise the use of the transgender tag only on pictures of characters who have made lifestyle changes, as that is a different concept from simply magically swapping chromosomes.

Just a minor one, can we call the tag genderswap or genderswaping since it should be used to describe a picture where a character is changing gender, instead of transgender (transformation) since that is quite a mouthful to type. Or is genderswap not PC? Or am I not getting the point?

The tag will officially be called tgtf but the long form “transgender transformation” and “transgender (transformation)” are aliased to it.  
“genderswap” is still an alias of rule 63 and is unrelated to TGTF other than that tgtf implies the tag rule 63. Make sense?

so, a recent discussion on an image has brought up a question. Where do we draw the line between safe and suggestive for kissing?
 
Cause I just can’t understound how french kissing can be safe if bedroom eyes and sexy poses are enough for a suggestive tag, as stated in the tagging guidlines
 
but, as kappe pointed out in the image above, there’s a quite a few safe rated images of exactly that.

I’ve always been curious about something- is there a specific number of faves that an image has to get to receive the “Wall of Faves” tag? I know for “Upvotes Galore” an image has to get a score above 200, but what about for faves? Is it 300, or is it just as many as it takes for the last comment and the stuff at the bottom of the page to not be visible onscreen at the same time?

It seems mostly used for images with over 200 faves. In my image listings, it seems only >>581109 has both the “wall of faves” tag and less than 200 faves (It would be easier to keep track of this if we had some way of filtering or sorting search results by number of faves, but that’s a whole different wagon of corndogs). For now, I say 200 sounds like a good threshold.

300 might be a better number. Most of the images with the Wall of Faves tag have over 300 faves anyway.
