an artist who got famous from NSFW stuff caused a huge debate over a pic with hoof focus. someone kept commenting on it, talking about hooves. mod got mad.
 
then the artist came in and said “do I get a badge???” and the mod said, “yes.” :P

But that was a pretty unique situation, because people started getting in a flame war over what fetishes were applicable to the image. The artist didn’t instigate anything, but just asked for the badge for creating the image that invented the “tag drama” tag.

I have an idea, stolen from The Weekly Planet.
 
A user can send the mods a screenshot or pic of the receipt for their donation to a pony charity drive (we still do those, right?) or any charity, and they get a variation of the Element of Generosity badge. Like maybe Rarity’s cutie mark.

I probably wouldn’t get that badge because my pony budget goes to commissions and art packs. I wouldn’t even bother getting that badge even if I did donate to charity. I don’t shove it in people’s face when I commission a pic, and I wouldn’t do that to charity.
 
But I’m sorry for even suggesting that, instead of this self-congratulatory garbage, we try to use badges for something positive. If a fucking meaningless internet badge gets people to fucking donate to the Red Cross or cancer research or some shit, why the fuck not.
 
But I guess that part of the fandom is dead, huh.

If such a badge encouraged people, sure, but yes, people should donate to charity because they want to, not because they get a shiny badge on some random website. That’s the definition of generosity right there, doing stuff without expecting anything in return, so a badge to show off and indicate such actions would be kinda oxymoron.

I believe he’s referring to the “Clop for a Cause” art folio; a porns pack with all proceeds going for a US military charity giving toys to impoverished children.
 
There was of course drama, both from some chan “people” about “OMG, paying for art?! I DEMAND MY MY LITTLE PONY PORNOGRAPHIC FAN ART BE 100% FREE!”, and from the ~tumblrs~ with “This being porn is an affront to all that is good and well and LITERALLY RAPES all the children the charity proceeds are going to”.

The face of a grimdark badge when?

It should be Filthy Rich’s cutie mark since he’s the one who donated the funds for the playground equipment. Rarity is a generous tipper, but she tends to donate labor rather than bits to charity.

I think there should be a badge for people who have reported their own comments/posts/whatever for rule violations when they feel they’ve gone over the line. Though I don’t know what kind of image that would be…
